Abstract:

Chiefly letters to Robert Ferry in Milwaukee, Wis., from various members of his family, mostly involving family matters. There are two letters from his brother Phil written from Pasadena, Calif.: one from Oct. 12, 1915, details Phil's ideas and sketches concerning cooler and more efficient gas turbines in airplane engines; in the other, dated Aug. 8, 1916, Phil questions his decision to move to Pasadena, yet is learning how a small airplane business is run. Includes letters from his mother Cora and aunt Mary, who have also moved to Pasadena, describing business, travels, and money, along with a letter written from Pasadena by his father George, a Milwaukee architect, containing a sketch and description of an addition to Robert's house. Also includes three letters describing business and travels from his wife, Ann, one of which was written while visiting in Pasadena. Finally, a letter from Robert to his mother [living?] in Maine concerning money.
